Corporal Matt Reaume - School Resource Officer

Please join us in giving a warm Trojan welcome to Corporal Matt Reaume from the Monroe Public Safety Department, who is joining our School Resource Officer team!

Corporal Reaume is joining Monroe Public Schools on a half-time basis and will primarily be stationed at the Monroe 5/6 Building, while joining our SRO team in supporting MPS elementary schools.

Officer Andrew Notario and Buddy, the therapy dog, will continue to be stationed at Monroe Middle School, and Deputy Michael Stahl will continue to be stationed at Monroe High School.   The expanded team will be helpful to address traffic flow issues, as well as strengthening safety.

"We are committed to taking proactive steps to support school safety, and we have great relationships with our local law enforcement," Superintendent Andrew Shaw stated. "We believe surrounding our students with phenomenal people can only lift them up," he said. "SROs strengthen our schools and our community."

A dedicated member of the Monroe Police since 2017, Reaume achieved the rank of Corporal in February.  He has taken on various roles, including being part of the Dive Team and Special Response Team.  He attended Eastern Michigan University for two years, before six years of service in the Navy (2010-2016), where he served as Petty Officer 2nd Class.  He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Ashford University in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Administration.

On June 16th, both Officer Notario and Cpl. Reaume participated in the 2025 SEPLA Conference (Schools • Educators • Police Liaison Association), which offered valuable training for School Resource Officers, including safety techniques and best practices.

Introducing our Newest School Resource Officer - Welcome Corporal Matt Reaume!
