Graduation Ceremony

Graduation is a happy and exciting event for the graduates, their families, and friends.  Each year, we strive to have a meaningful and dignified ceremony for our graduates.  In order to accomplish this, we offer the following suggestions:

  1. Please put all cell phones and/or pagers in a silent operating mode.
  2. Excessive movement in the stands should be avoided.
  3. Loud talking interferes with others’ ability to hear the ceremony.
  4. Applause should be held until all the names of the seniors are read.
  5. Parents and/or friends are not allowed on the field during the ceremony.
  6. Air horns and other noise devices should not be used. Parents will be removed from the ceremony if these devices are used.

A professional photographer will take individual pictures as each graduate receives their diploma and a videographer will record the ceremony. Order forms for both will be available that evening.

Weather permitting, Commencement will be at Bunkelman Field and tickets will not be needed.  Should weather force our Commencement exercise to be moved inside, each family will receive four tickets due to limited seating in our gymnasium.  Tickets will be required for entrance into the gym.  We will have a live feed of the ceremony into the auditorium.  Tickets will not be required for the auditorium, and seating will be on a first come, first serve basis.  Students will receive four inclement weather tickets when they pick up their cap and gown on May 28th.  If tickets are lost, they will not be replaced. Also, parking will be limited so you are strongly advised to car pool and arrive early (see reverse for departure instructions).  Another option would be to park at Monroe County Community College and ride a shuttle bus to Monroe High School. If a family member needs handicap seating, space will be available on the track of the football field.  If the ceremony is held in the gym, handicap seating will be limited to the handicapped person and one family member, and each person will need a ticket for entrance or they may sit in the auditorium.  Please call 265-3463 to make reservations for handicap seating.

Parents and friends are invited to take pictures of their graduate after the ceremony has concluded. We are looking forward to the 2015 Commencement ceremony.  Please help us ensure that graduation will be a satisfying and enjoyable experience.
